The Fakeer of Jungheera is a poem and it is also a hert touchin love poem. The protagonist of this poem is The Fakeer who is the robber or a mendicant, who belongs to some unidentified Muslim sect, while the heroin , the widoe Nuleeni, comes from an upper caste  Beangali Hindi Hindu family. Derozio uses Christian imagery, such as heaven and angels flitting about and Juxtaposes it against the Hindu tradition of Sati, Muslim prayers and Tantric tale of Raja Vikramjit and Batal to create a quaint , romantic atmosphere.  But the love affair between Fakeer and the Heroin Nuleeni leads towards the destruction of their life which also indicates fear towards the Hindu and Muslim love af fairs. It nonetheless  places the tragedy in an  impure tradition after having rejected  all the other dominant religion forms.

The  Stonry Old man and the sea is the story of an  spic struggle between an old, seasoned fisherman and the greatest catch of his life. For eighty - four days, Santiago , an aged Cuban fisher man, has set our to sea and return empty- handed.  And he was become the laughing strock of a small village. He then endures a long and grueling  struggle with Marlin the fish.  And at last Santiago successfully caught the fish it shows an old man's undying faith into himself. We can see that Santiago lives according to his observation : "man is not mad defeat ...... a man can be destroed but not  defeated."Here we will   found that in Hemingway' s portrait of the world, death is inevitable, but the best men will nonetheless refus to give in to its power. Accordingly , man and fish will struggle to the death, just as hungry sharks will lay waste to an old man's trophy catch and his struggle fo the achievement.
